Even though it has been an active association for 40 years, it was formally constituted on November 17, 1998. It has permanent representatives in the Mercosur Standardization Committee, Elevator Federation of the Argentine Republic (FAERA), Permanent Committee for Safety and in the Municipal Commission for Ordinance Revision.
Founded in September 1949, the Argentine Elevator Chamber has 72 years of service in promoting safety in the vertical transportation. The chamber represents elevator/escalator manufacturers, installers, maintainers and suppliers.
CECAF was constituted on September 18, 1987 with the object of maximizing the efforts of the member maintenance companies to upgrade their activity and to obtain better and fairer regulations. The association has permanent representatives in the Federacion de Asociaciones y Camaras de Ascensores de la Republica Argentina (FARA) and in the Mercosur Standardization Committee.

CEA was formed in 1984 and has 500 members. The secretariat together with the Institute of Building Mechanization. CEA is one of the sponsors of China World Elevator & Escalator Expo and China Elevator Magazine.
