This 40-year-old association holds annual meetings of representatives from various countries to discuss tramway-related accidents worldwide; remedial measures to preclude recurrence; new and innovative tramway types and potential problem areas; and current international standards. Secretariat and host country rotates annually.
Since 1962, OIPEEC has provided a forum for exchange of information about rope endurance. OIPEEC promotes the concepts of endurance prediction as the basis for rope selection and qualification.
For 100 years, the IUEC has maintained its commitment to encouraging membership of all field workers in the elevator industry. Currently, the IUEC represents in excess of 80% of all persons employed in the construction, service, maintenance and repair of elevators in the U.S. and Canada.
IAEM comprises seven companies which handle 85% of elevator field activity. IAEM gathers once a fortnight and deals mainly in the fields of standards, professional training and the promotion of this branch. Mr. Meitus stands at the head of the organization.
